Torreón OEA Certification Strengthens Supply Chain Security

The Essex Solutions facility in Torreón, Mexico has earned Authorized Economic Operator (OEA) certification, an important milestone that strengthens supply chain security while supporting more efficient cross-border operations and greater confidence in product movement throughout the Americas.
For customers, OEA certification can mean greater predictability and efficiency as products are transported across international borders. OEA-certified operations can benefit from streamlined customs procedures and reduced inspections, along with simplified documentation and other administrative advantages available under foreign trade regulations in Mexico.
OEA is the trusted-trader certification program in Mexico and is comparable to the U.S. Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program. The certification also extends beyond the Mexico-Unite States border. Through mutual recognition agreements with countries that maintain equivalent trader-trusted programs can help support international trade and provide greater continuity across a global supply chain.
“For our team in Torreón, this credential is recognition of the work that goes on here daily. It gives our OEM and Tier 1 customers, along with customers across CTC and energy markets, additional confidence in the way we operate and strengthens the role this plant can play in their North American supply chains,” said Antonio Padilla, Torreón Plant Manager.
Beyond customs efficiencies, the certification reinforces the security practices surrounding international shipments and further strengthens the ability for Torreón to support customers with increasingly complex regional and global supply chain requirements.
As the Torreón team begins operating under OEA certification, this achievement becomes part of a broader Essex Solutions commitment to building a secure, reliable, and resilient manufacturing network that support stakeholders around the world.
