HVWW® has the thermal class 220°C or higher, and its coating consists of a thick layer of polyetheretherketone (PEEK), a thermoplastic resin, on the outside of a polyamide-imide or polyimide enamel coating.

In addition to its high heat resistance, flat rectangular cross-section, and use of oxygen-free copper, its greatest feature is that it enables the design of thicker coatings in areas that are not possible with enameled wires, allowing for the omission of insulation paper and application to 800V motors that require higher partial discharge initiation voltages. Furthermore, since the thermoplastic resin layer is formed by an extrusion molding method that produces low CO2 emissions, it also contributes to reducing the environmental impact.
