Products & Innovation

Bringing a new technology to market often starts well before a magnet wire specification is selected. Material performance, manufacturing requirements, and the demands of end application all influence the solution, making early collaboration between customers and technical leaders increasingly important.

Through MagForceX® Innovation Centers, Essex Solutions brings that expertise closer to the customer development process. That approach is now expanding into Europe, where a newly formalized team connects material science, chemical development, process engineering, and technical proficiency across CTC, automotive, and industrial applications.

“Our customers are developing applications with increasingly demanding requirements, and those challenges often call for collaboration across several disciplines,” said Paola Pachera, Ph.D, Process Engineering Manager. “Through MagForceX®, we can bring specialists together around the customer’s project, combining our knowledge of materials, processes, and applications to help develop solutions that can move forward and go directly into production.”

The European team is also building from experience already established. Pachera and other members of the European team recently visited the MagForceX® Innovation Center in Fort Wayne, working directly with North American colleagues to better understand how customer projects are approached and identify best practices that can be applied for Europe. The North American team has contributed more than 50 patents since it was launched in 2019, reflecting the depth of development already taking place within the Innovation team.

Expanding the MagForceX® structure in Europe is intended to bring technical discussions into the development process earlier, when materials, wire design, manufacturing and application requirements can be evaluated together. It reflects an approach Essex Solutions continues to build around: combining material science and application expertise with close customer collaboration to address complex challenges and help move promising ideas closer to market.
